how long does the Montauk Mystery experience last?

This is a long-form transmedia narrative. The primary mission spans 12 months, featuring 10 levels and 130 unique challenge stages designed to integrate into your daily life.

Is this an escape room?

While it features escape-room style puzzles and logic, Montauk Mystery is a “Real-Life Adventure” (RLA). The “room” is the world around you, accessed through your devices and the digital mirror universe.

Is the Game scary?

It is a psychological thriller. While there are no physical jump-scares, the narrative explores conspiracy theories, secret government experiments (like Operation Paperclip and Area 51), and the unsettling nature of AI authority.

What happens if we don’t solve a stage in time?

In the mirror universe, time is fluid but consequences are real. Missing goals may alter the data the AUTO-MOD receives, potentially changing the story’s outcome for all players.

Can I play with friends?

Absolutely. While each player must log their own impressions to influence the AI, the community (The Audience) must work together to uncover the “shape, quality, and nature” of the mystery.
